Da Capo

Da Capo. A lot of musicians use this term to say “from the beginning.” It is mainly used for the conductor, when he/she needs to repeat a measure, or start the whole song again. This musical expression basically defines my life right now. A few months ago, I went on a day trip to the forest to go hiking with my older brother Corey. We were hiking in a beautiful forest, filled with trees that towered above us like friendly giants leading the way.

I was so distracted that I didn’t notice the huge tree root that was implanted into the ground. “Calypso!” yelled Corey, as he rushed to be by my side. For a second, everything seemed normal in my body. But then a strong pain shot up my leg, like poison about to reach my brain. It seemed that when I tripped my leg buckled and I crashed hard on my leg. Corey examined my leg and then told me, “We should get you to the hospital, right now.” We didn’t hike far from Corey’s car.  So it only took about 10 minutes to get there. Each step I took was like taking a step in a sinking hole of darkness. I always get this feeling when I am in distress, or panicked.

Then suddenly everything went dark.

This is the introduction to a story that took me a lot of time to render and write, please enjoy!(I will be posting the next part soon.)
