Open Your Eyes

So if you have been reading my blog ever since it started, then you probably know that I care very strongly about the fact that, most people underestimate the world. We live in a place full of beauty and exhilaration. And yet we waste it away by spending our lives in a bubble. A bubble that only lets in things that are connected to things such as social media, makeup, and selfies. People now days don’t go past their comfort zones, they don’t even consider stepping outside to look out at the beautiful world that appears in front of them. So I encourage you to open your eyes.

Open Your Eyes

By Kanmani Harivenkatesh

Open your eyes, there’s a whole world out there, put down your fear and open your heart, look out the door, and smell the fresh air.  ‘Cause there’s a whole world out there just waiting for you to open your eyes and take a deep breath.

There’s a place that I know, that will always be in my heart, a place that opens up to me and says “Come here and have an adventure with me, please, have a heart.

Because it is not only a world of buildings and factories. But a place full beaches and ocean breezes creating a home for me.

I know a world that’s just the tree’s and the sky, calming my soul and inspiring my eyes. A place that will keep my troubles away, and make me be another soul with the sky and the renegades.

Shine in my Shadow

The dictionary definition for the word inspire is, “fill (someone) with the urge or ability to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.” My goal for this year is to do so.  Steve Jobs, President Obama, Martin Luther King Jr. These are all amazing people, right down to their heart. But the people who inspire me the most are the people who ask themselves, “What can I do to make a difference?” Those are the people who inspire, those are the people who are pure. Those are the people who not only inspire me, but they inspire the people who say, “There’s no hope in trying.” So I hope this poem I wrote inspires you to shine for someones shadow.

Shine in my Shadow

By Kanmani Harivenkatesh

Be the light in the dark of fear.

Be the sun in the rain of hate, and poison.

Be the calm in the hurricane of pain and panic.

Be the hope for the forgotten.

Be at peace in the war of unforgiveness.

Be the shine for someone’s shadow.

Be the person people look up to, to be inspired.
